By the pool, the bodyguards shoved Bianca’s head into the water as per Theodore’s orders. Icy water rushed into her nose and mouth in an instant.
She thrashed wildly, but it was useless. Her lungs burned, and her vision darkened, and just when she thought she was about to die, she was yanked back up.
She coughed violently, gasping for air like her life depended on it. Before she could even beg for mercy, her head was shoved down again.
After countless cycles, the bodyguard dragged the limp, barely conscious Bianca to Theodore’s feet. She sprawled on the ground, coughing and choking uncontrollably. She looked up at his cold face, and despair. hollowed her out from within,
As if there was nothing left to lose, she let out a sharp, maniacal laugh. With the last of her strength, she screamed, “Yes! Yes! I planned it all! But Theodore Brooke, look me in the eye and ask yourself. Who really hurt Clarisse?”
Her voice cracked with rage and scorn. “Was I the one who fed her peanut butter? Was I the one who forced you to choose us over her, over and over again?
“Was I the one who stood there while she was bullied and humiliated and just watched, convinced she
was faking it all? Was I the one who forced you to sign the agreement?
“Every knife that made her bleed has your fingerprints on it! You’re the real butcher, Theodore. The most
hypocritical, cold–blooded one of all. Without your silence, who the hell am I?
“You’re the one who threw Clarisse out of your world. You’re the one who drove her away!”
She let out a wild, broken laugh. “You never truly loved her! You’re just like me, rotten to the core. That’s
why she left you! You deserved to lose her!”
“Shut up!” Theodore shot to his feet. His bloodshot eyes burned with fury, the kind that came when a person’s deepest sins were dragged into the light. Bianca’s words were the sharpest truth that sliced through the lies he made to escape from reality.
He raised his foot and stomped down, hard, grinding her fingers into the ground. A piercing scream tore
from her throat.
He stared at her crumpled form and said, “Everything you did to Clarisse, I’ll make you pay for it a
thousandfold. As for what I did to her, I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to her!”
“The doctors said your body can’t handle an abortion, right?” A cruel smile tugged at his lips. “Then, don’t
do it at the hospital.”
With a wave of his hand, the bodyguard stepped forward, hauling Bianca up by the arms. Without
hesitation, he raised the wooden rod in his hands and brought it down on her stomach. A few strikes

Theodore looked at the blood pooling beneath Bianca, his expression cold and indifferent. It was like he was looking at a piece of disgusting trash.
He took out his phone and calmly dialed his assistant.
“Ms. York had a miscarriage. Send someone to get her to the hospital. Tell the doctors that keeping her alive is enough,” he said, tone flat. “And get rid of that bastard child. Find the worst orphanage you can and dump him there.”
After hanging up the call, he turned and walked away. Not once did he glance at Bianca again, but her crazy voice echoed in his ear.
“Every knife that made her bleed has your fingerprints on it! You’re the one who threw Clarisse out of your world!”
It was he who hurt Clarisse over Caleb again and again. It was he who hurt her with his doubt and coldness. It was he who signed that damn divorce agreement.
“Clarisse…” He shut his eyes. Pain twisted through his chest, crushing everything inside. Regret surged like a freezing tide, tearing through him like a million blades.
He clutched his chest, gasping as he swore in his heart.
No matter what it cost, he would find Clarisse and beg for her forgiveness. He could not afford to lose her. Without her, there was no point in living anymore.
He would find her, no matter what it took.
