Chapter 52
Sebastian was holding a pair of form–fitting pajamas sheepishly. He explained softly, “I’m used to wearing
this to sleep.”
He was going to let Noelle use his bedroom, but he couldn’t sleep without his usual pajamas. That was why he sneaked into the bedroom.
It was so awkward. Sebastian had never felt so uncertain before. It was a strange feeling.
Just as he was about to explain himself, Noelle quickly stood up from the bed. She approached Sebastian and asked worriedly, “Why are you drenched? Didn’t you use an umbrella?”
Her eyes were filled with genuine concern, and Sebastian felt like a child caught red–handed.
He explained, “I did, but it was too windy outside.”
He lied. He wasn’t used to telling lies, so he couldn’t help but avoid her gaze.
The situation was grave enough that Noelle didn’t notice anything off. She rushed to grab a towel from
the bathroom to dry Sebastian’s hair.
“How could you be so careless? We need to dry your hair quickly, or you’ll catch a cold. Here, let me dry
your hair.”
Sebastian’s face flushed red, which made Noelle worry when she looked up and saw his face. She put the towel aside and placed the back of her hand against his forehead. “This is bad. Did you catch a cold?”
They stared into each other’s eyes for a while as Noelle carefully examined Sebastian’s complexion. The longer she stared, the redder Sebastian’s face grew.
Noelle was sure that Sebastian had caught a cold. “No, you need to take a bath.”
Saying that, she dragged Sebastian into the bathroom.
Sebastian was dumbfounded. Were they going to take a bath together?
Noelle pulled Sebastian by his hand as they headed into the bathroom. She felt responsible for what happened, so she had to take action since Sebastian fell sick.
For once, Sebastian found himself waiting obediently in his bedroom. Noelle was busy preparing a bath
and didn’t let Sebastian lift a finger
Sebastian had no choice but to stand aside and watch Noelle like he was admiring a piece of art in the
museum. He didn’t remember when, but he had imagined or perhaps dreamed of a life like this a long
time ago.
When Noelle turned back after finishing the preparations, she was surprised to see Sebastian’s teary eyes.
Did he feel so sick he was driven to tears?
