Yasmine dragged Conner to the hospital’s rooftop, which were full of puddles that formed from the rain
that had just ended.
After making sure that no one was around, Yasmine asked, “Are you crazy? You said that you’re going to make Noelle see a doctor after how she treated me and the Ashford family? The rain must have caused your brain to malfunction!”
Yasmine had always spoiled Conner, but even that wasn’t enough to stop her from yelling at him this time. Her disdain was clear. Noelle couldn’t conceive, so what good would she be?
Besides, it was all Noelle’s fault that she was berated at Kendra’s last time. She wasn’t going to let that go so easily.
Conner was like a possessed man. He continued nonsensically, “If Noelle can’t conceive, I’ll find a surrogate mother instead! We’ll have our very own child. I can’t live like this. I don’t want to live like this anymore…”
Seeing the crazed look in her son’s eyes, Yasmine stomped her feet impatiently and raised her voice.” You can have any woman you want, so why are you in such a rush? Tell me, did you go to see Noelle behind our backs again? What did that vixen tell you?”
Conner stared at the night sky and thought about what had happened in the suburb just now. The memory drove him mad.
“Mom, Noelle isn’t marrying some old coot. She’s marrying a lively young man. I can’t let my wife marry another man like this!” he said. He couldn’t stand the thought of Noelle living in the same house as that
man.
Yasmine calmed herself down enough to comfort Conner. She patted his shoulder. “So what if she’s marrying a lively young man? Can he match up to our family?”
Trying to calm Conner’s raging emotions, Yasmine continued, “The younger he is, the more upset he’ll be when he finds out that his wife can’t get pregnant. Think about it, he must be unaware that Noelle can’t conceive. If he knew, would he still marry her?”
Conner finally returned to his senses. He forced out between clenched teeth, “What if he only finds out that Noelle can’t conceive after their marriage?”
Yasmine sighed. “Naturally, they’ll get a divorce! Sabrina would have given birth by then, and Noelle’s husband would have kicked her out.
“If you’re still interested in Noelle by then, she’ll be more than happy to follow you back to the Ashford family. But I have one condition. If she wants to reenter our family, she’ll need to apologize to me first!”
Conner’s furrowed brows finally relaxed, signalling that Yasmine’s words had calmed him down. He was sure that man wouldn’t stay with Noelle for long. Even if they got married, he would kick her out soon.

By then, Sabrina would have given birth. Without a place to return to, Noelle would have no choice but to return to him. He could let that unknown man have her for now.
Conner narrowed his eyes at the streetlights outside the hospital. ‘It’s also the perfect chance for Noelle to learn that not all men would treat her as well as I do.”
Yasmine harrumphed. “That’s right. She never once thought about how easy she had it in our house. She never had to lift a finger to do housework.
“All she did day in and day out was gardening and painting in a luxurious mansion. Now that she’s used to living like royalty, there’s no way she could handle living like some commoner.”
At the mention of Noelle having to live like a commoner, Conner started to worry. He asked with a frown,” Mom, are there any expensive villas in Norland’s eastern suburb?”
The moment Conner spoke of the suburb, Yasmine replied without hesitation, “How could there be any villas in the suburb? You could argue that they’re villas, but they’re more like self–built houses than
anything
Yasmine’s words cleared Conner’s doubts.
