Chapter 88
“If that’s not the case, then I’ll head to the guest room,” he said.
Noelle clenched her teeth, uncertain of what to do. She was afraid that if she wanted him to stay, he’d think she was too eager. But if she didn’t, it would feel like she was taking over his space.
She did not move until Sebastian was nearly at the bedroom door, then she rushed after him in quick
strides. “Don’t go!”
In her haste, she took overly large steps, causing the towel wrapped around her chest to slip to the floor with a muffled thud.
Sebastian turned his head and was met with a sight that took his breath away. A rush of blood surged to
his head.
Noelle covered her mouth, afraid her startled cry would disturb everyone else in the Cole residence.
In moments of panic, a person really didn’t know what to do. And, atthat moment, Noelle stood frozen in front of Sebastian, her hands pressed over her mouth as a muffled scream escaped her.
Her cry tore through the still night, lingering for a long time before finally fading away.
Sebastian’s gaze stayed fixed on the figure before him. He swallowed unconsciously, and his voice dropped to a husky tone. “This time, are you really asking me to stay?”
At this point, Noelle could no longer bring herself to refuse. Since things had come this far, at least she
didn’t take over someone else’s place.
She nodded. “Yes, stay.”
A mix of emotions flickered in Sebastian’s eyes before he finally said slowly, “Honestly, getting me to stay
is easy. You didn’t need to go to such lengths.”
After he finished speaking, he bent down and lifted her into his arms, holding her by the waist. “The bedroom is cold. You just finished your shower, and without anything on, you could easily catch a cold.”
Hearing him say “without anything on“, Noelle instantly felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment. Now,
she ended up being the one who intentionally stayed naked to keep him here. She might as well have
admitted from the start that she wanted him to stay.
After settling Noelle on the bed, Sebastian casually began undressing. “I’m going to take a shower.”
Noelle deliberately averted her gaze. “Alright.”
She avoided looking at Sebastian. Even though she had seen his body before, looking at it again still
made her cheeks flush.
Sebastian went to the bathroom, and Noelle lay quietly on the bed, listening to the gentle patter of water. The uneven rhythm of the sound made her drowsiness settle in even faster.

She rolled over, hugged the blanket, and drifted off to sleep in a daze.
Sebastian finished his shower, wrapped in a dark towel just like Noelle’s, and stepped out of the bathroom while drying his hair. He took one glance and immediately knew the person in bed was already
asleep.
If she weren’t asleep, she would definitely be anxiously watching toward the bathroom. She was always
this cautious.
Just like at that gathering when she was a child, she was held in Patrick’s arms. Her big eyes watched the people at the table with caution and a hint of unease.
He wondered if it was from that moment on that he began wanting to protect her. He wanted to chase away all her caution and unease.
Under the warm yellow light, Sebastian looked at the sleeping figure and murmured, “Noelle, one day all your hesitation and guardedness will disappear.”
Noelle wasn’t sleeping deeply. She mumbled softly, turned over, and pulled the blanket off herself.
