“But no matter what your job was, Noelle doesn’t spend much anyway. She’s content with clothes that cost only a few dozen dollars.”
Sebastian never imagined that someone would ask about his job, and even less that anyone would have the nerve to mock Noelle right in front of him.

Kenneth sat a bit farther away and didn’t notice the look in Sebastian’s eyes. Still full of smugness, he assumed Sebastian’s silence meant his job was not as good.
He smirked and shot Sebastian a sidelong glance. “No need to feel inferior. Not everyone gets to have a respectable job like mine, and not everyone could study at a prestigious foreign university either. Just the tuition alone was something many ordinary people couldn’t afford.”
