Chapter 544
Ramona said all this without the faintest blush or hint of embarrassment on her
face.
It was as if she weren’t confessing her feelings, but simply negotiating a business
deal.
Hayes and Carlotta fell silent.
Nearby, Sprague and Marigold’s eyes lit up like Christmas lights the moment they heard Ramona speak.
“Well, Miss Ramona certainly has excellent taste-our Jonathan is by far the most outstanding young man of his generation.”
“It’s rare for someone like Miss Ramona to take a liking to Jonathan, Mr. Quinn, I promise, give me three days-I’ll have Jonathan divorced from Niamh.”
Sprague made his vow with absolute confidence, while Ramona just curled her scarlet lips ever so slightly, betraying nothing.
No one looked more displeased than Hayes and Carlotta.
“There’s no need to rush, Mr. Thomas. Marriage isn’t something to be taken lightly.”
With that, Hayes bent his head over his plate, brow deeply furrowed.
Carlotta’s gaze kept drifting to the next table, always landing on Niamh.
Niamh noticed Carlotta’s glances, of course.
She simply pretended not to see.
Across from her, Jonathan felt as if his throat had been scorched with acid; his chest burned with discomfort.
He’d never realized it could be so hard to win a woman back.
Was he losing his charm?
Was he no longer trustworthy?
Or was it simply-
Had he hurt Niamh too deeply?
Jonathan cut a piece of steak and forced it into his mouth, tasting nothing.

Chapter 544
Suddenly, the night sky outside the window exploded with color.
“Someone’s setting off fireworks,” someone murmured.
Brilliant bursts of color danced across the darkness, as if a thousand ballerinas were pirouetting through the air.
Niamh turned to the window, her eyes glittering with reflected neon.
She knew-this was Jonathan’s doing. All for her..
When the fireworks faded, countless drones rose into the sky, their lights weaving an intricate display.
At last, the drones spelled out a message:
Niamh, forgive me.
Niamh calmly sipped her champagne, while the other patrons in the restaurant couldn’t help but turn to look at her.
She might not be a household name, but as a renowned BYC master, her face was well-known in high society.
Everyone present understood: this extravagant drone-and-fireworks show was Jonathan’s grand apology, meant for her alone.
Jonathan watched Niamh in silence.
Even after the romantic spectacle, she remained unmoved, simply finishing her
meal with relish.
“If you’re still hungry, feel free to order more,” Jonathan offered, sliding the menu.
across to her.
“I’d like an omelet, Niamh replied.
It wasn’t on the menu, but Jonathan called over the waiter and asked the chef to make one just for her.
Niamh didn’t eat it. Instead, she squeezed ketchup onto the surface, drawing something, then handed the plate to Jonathan.
Three bold words, written in glaring red: Not a chance.
Jonathan’s heart plummeted.
This was Niamh’s answer to his extravagant gesture-her answer to him.
Across the table, Niamh dabbed her lips with a napkin and stood.

“Thank you for dinner… but it still doesn’t compare to the evening Elmer arranged
for me.”
Whatever hope Jonathan had left was crushed.
He had chosen Nimbus Summit, arranged the drone show, the fireworks-all to erase the memory of Elmer’s romantic gesture, to make sure that memory was no longer the only one that mattered.
And yet…
It still wasn’t enough for Niamh.
Jonathan felt the world spin.
“You don’t have to see me home. I already asked Elmer to pick me up-he’s here
now.”
With that, Niamh turned on her heel and walked out of Nimbus Summit without a backward glance.
Jonathan hesitated for barely a second before leaping to his feet.
He had to go after her!
But before he could take a step, someone grabbed his arm.
He turned to find Ramona, beaming at him, her eyes full of promise.
