Sabrina was gloating as if she’d won some grand prize, but Noelle knew that she was never going to win anything. Not to mention, she wasn’t going to feel aggrieved since she was going to leave the Ashfords
anyway.
It took Noelle only minutes to pack.
She’d never been an avid shopper. Most of what she owned was tied to Conner, and they were things she had no intention of bringing with her.
Conner glanced at Noelle’s suitcase–an 18 inch carry–on that was half full. He frowned. “You might have to stay at the Spencers for a while. Is that really all you’re bringing?” he asked in concern.
To Sabrina, a half packed carry–on was a sign that Noelle didn’t want to leave the Ashfords. She had to be planning to spend a few days at the Spencer residence before coming back.
Feigning weakness, she collapsed against Conner’s chest. “Caleb, my stomach hurts!”
Conner’s eyes immediately snapped from Noelle to Sabrina in worry. He anxiously wrapped an arm around her shoulder and asked, “Where does it hurt? I’ll get the doctor.”
With that, he hurried off to fetch the family doctor.
The moment Conner was gone, Sabrina’s sweet facade dropped and was replaced by the smug smile of someone who thought she’d already won.
She looked at Noelle’s carry–on with a sneer. “Judging from the few things you’ve brought, are you planning to go home for a couple of days, then come back? Just dream on.”
Noelle rubbed her temples, grabbed her carry–on, and walked out without a word.
Even talking to Sabrina felt tiring.
But her silence struck a nerve in Sabrina. Agitated, she lunged forward to grab Noelle’s arm. “You still
won’t give up, will you?”
She’d never allow anyone to covet Caleb!
Noelle’s wrist throbbed in pain under Sabrina’s grip. When she turned around, she found herself staring into Sabrina’s eyes. They were red with rage.
“Is that your plan? A tactical retreat to the Spencers? You must think you’re clever and won’t learn until you finally get taught a lesson!”
Just then, footsteps sounded on the stairs as Conner brought the doctor over.
Before Noelle could respond, Sabrina let out a sharp cry and stumbled toward the door. “Ah!”
The footsteps on the stairs quickened, and Conner’s worried voice rang out before he even reached the

landing, “Sab, are you okay!”

Kneeling by the door and clutching her belly, Sabrina cried out, “Noelle, I’ve always seen you as my sister.
How dare you push me?”
Noelle almost rolled her eyes at Sabrina collapsing on the floor.
With such acting skills, she shouldn’t be here carrying the Ashfords‘ heir. If anything, she should be on a film set. Who knew, she might’ve been able to get a Best Actress award if she’d started an acting career
sooner.
Conner crouched down beside Sabrina in alarm. “Did she push you?”
Nodding, Sabrina pitifully sniffled and dabbed at her tears. “I just wanted her to take a longer rest at the
Spencer residence so she wouldn’t be too overwhelmed with grief here, but she thought I was trying to
drive her away.
“Why would I ever do that? Conner might be dead, but I’ve always seen her as my sister…” Sabrina spun her tales with such feigned sincerity and kindness, acting like a gentle soul who’d suffered a great
injustice.
Noelle was completely stunned by her performance. It got her wondering how Sabrina could lie so
brazenly without batting an eye.
When Conner looked up again, his eyes held a dark glare that was fixed on Noelle. “Have you lost your mind? How dare you push Sabrina when you know how hard it had been for her to conceive?
“Can you even take responsibility if anything happens to the baby?”
The commotion drew Yasmine over. Face flushed with fury, she shoved Noelle hard.
Even if Noelle could brace herself against the door, she was no match for Yasmine’s ruthless force. So, she staggered backward and fell hard beside her carry–on.
Her knee scraped the floor, and blood instantly stained her skin.
Noelle drew a sharp, pained breath as Yasmine’s wrath crashed over her. “You can’t even bear children yourself, and now you’re trying to hurt Sabrina!
‘Max, take her back to the Spencers now!” she called out, summoning the driver.
