After hearing Sabrina’s words, Noelle felt that she was being absolutely ridiculous.
When Sabrina had been making her life miserable in the Ashford residence, scheming against her at every turn, she hadn’t cared one bit about women looking out for each other.
Now, backed into a corner with no other options, she suddenly wanted to talk about women supporting
women. What a complete joke.
Besides, Noelle knew wasn’t marrying for money or because of Patrick’s case anyway. She didn’t need
Sabrina’s pity, not in this lifetime.
Noelle pulled her hand out from Sabrina’s grasp and offered some well–meaning advice.
“If you’re feeling insecure, you should save up more money while you’re at the Ashford residence. That way, when your child is born, the both of you can live happily regardless of whether or not the Ashford
family is in the picture.”
Her words were meant as genuine advice. However, Sabrina saw them as proof that Noelle was
determined to come between her and Caleb. She even took it as a threat, a warning to grab as much
money as she could now before being abandoned and left on the streets.
How could she possibly tolerate such a threat? Sabrina gritted her teeth and viciously glared at Noelle.
She hissed, “I tried to discuss this with you nicely.”
Noelle frowned slightly.
Discussing things nicely? She called the way she was behaving nice?
But before Noelle could say anything, Sabrina suddenly leaned backward and fell down the spiral staircase. Her roll down the stairs were accompanied by terrifying screams.
Noelle’s soul nearly left her body when she heard those screams.
When she looked more closely, Sabrina was already lying motionless at the bottom of the stairs.
Instantly, the guests erupted into chaos. Those nearby rushed over to Sabrina while those farther away simply stood and stared. Even Sabrina’s bodyguards were dumbfounded.
Noelle narrowed her eyes. “What are you standing around for? Help her up and get her to a hospital!”
Only after her instructions did the two bodyguards spring into action.
Soon, Mary came rushing over in a panic too. She looked first at Sabrina on the ground, then at Noelle. Her face was full of worry as she tried to comprehend what had happened.
Chapter 31

By then, Sabrina’s face was deathly pale, and there was blood on the floor too. However, a triumphant glint flashed in her eyes. She looked at Noelle with victorious satisfaction, like a winner looking down at
the defeated.
Noelle tightly clenched her fists.
This was insane, utterly insane!
Upon seeing Noelle’s complicated expression, Sabrina felt even more triumphant. Then, as the two bodyguards lifted her weakly, she pointed in Noelle’s direction and dramatically wailed, “She pushed me!
“She couldn’t stand that I’m carrying the Ashford family heir! She can’t have children herself, so she’s jealous of me! She’s gone crazy! She’s really lost it!”
Sabrina secretly watched Noelle’s reaction while gloating inwardly.
Did Noelle really think she could compete with her?
She wasn’t just going to make the Ashford family dislike Noelle, she was going to make Noelle’s future in- laws despise her too!
After all, what respectable family would marry a woman who couldn’t bear children?
The guests burst into an uproar and began whispering among themselves.
One said, “I’ve heard Ms. Spencer doesn’t have children from her first marriage… So, she really is infertile?
