Mary was frantic and completely at a loss on what to do.
It was Noelle who resolutely came downstairs, her voice trembling yet firm as she said, “Mom, take care of our relatives and friends here. I’ll go to the hospital.” She then turned to follow the bodyguards out.
But Mary instinctively grabbed her hand and said, “Noelle, a–are you okay?”
Noelle felt sorry for her mother. The biggest storm Mary had ever faced was when Patrick had gotten. involved in a corruption case. She’d only ever been a carefree housewife while her husband handled work
affairs.
Mary had never dealt with workplace conflicts. After all, Patrick was a good man worth trusting, and there
had never been emotional or family disputes. So, when faced with situations like this, feeling nervous and
helpless was inevitable.
Noelle squeezed Mary’s hand. “Mom, I promise you, nothing will happen.”
On the way to the hospital, the bodyguards had notified the Ashfords about what had happened. So, by
the time they’d reached, the Ashfords were already there.
Noelle had planned to help when the bodyguards were assisting Sabrina out of the car. After all, the bodyguards were men and had to maintain boundaries.
However, Yasmine suddenly grabbed her hair and yanked her toward the car. She yelled, “You crazy bitch,
do you know what kind of trouble you’ve caused? I should’ve taught you a lesson at the department store
last time. Then, you wouldn’t have become so arrogant!”
Yasmine was always unreasonably aggressive, and now that she was furious, her grip on Noelle was unforgiving.
Noelle felt like her scalp was about to be torn off. Then, through the chaos, she caught sight of Conner’s figure.
He frantically rushed over, pushed past Noelle, and snatched Sabrina from the two bodyguards. “Get out of my way, you useless idiots! You couldn’t even look after one person! What good are you?”
Conner’s anger toward the bodyguards revealed just how much he cared about Sabrina. In fact, he cared so much about her that he didn’t even glance at Noelle being abused by Yasmine.
Noelle struggled with all her might, but she was no match for an enraged shrew. By then, chunks of her hair had been pulled out, and her smooth locks now hung disheveled. She looked like a madwoman.

It was only after seeing Conner carry Sabrina into the hospital did Yasmine finally let go of Noelle. She needed to go inside too, after all
By then, Noelle’s eyes were bloodshot, her breathing was unstable, and her ears were ringing
“Hurry up and contact Dr. Brown! If anything happens to the baby, you might as well be dead too!” After throwing out this threat, Yasmine stormed off toward the hospital.
Noelle stood there, gritting her teeth as she stared at the hospital sign.
Just then, Mary called and anxiously asked, “Noelle, how’s Sabrina? I’m calling the Brown family right now. Dalton is a nice person, and whenever our family needs help, he never refuses.”
Noelle’s scalp tingled, and she paused for a long time before saying, “Mom, don’t call the Browns. Mr. Brown is a good person, but we shouldn’t trouble someone as kind as him over someone else’s problems.”
If something indeed happened to Sabrina’s baby, it would be her own doing. Not to mention, given how the Ashfords had treated her, why should she use her family’s connections to help them? If Noelle did make that call to Dalton, she would only be degrading herself.
Finally, she said, “Mom, promise me you won’t call Mr. Brown. If we ever do, it’ll be for my own matters.
What happens to other people is not our concern, and it’s not our place to interfere either.”
After hanging up, Noelle turned around without looking back. Then, she flagged down a cab to return to
the Spencer residence.
However, her phone rang again, but this time, it was Caleb.
“Where’s Dr. Brown? Noelle! I’m asking you where’s Dr. Brown! Why aren’t you getting Dr. Brown over here?
What are you doing?”
