Chapter 33

The cab driver glanced at Noelle in the rearview mirror Ma’am, are you getting in or not?
Noelle didn’t hesitate as she pulled open the car door and got in. “Yes. Let’s go.”
Conner’s angry roar came through the phone, “Sabrina is hurt, and you should’ve been the first to contact Dr. Brown for her! Besides, she said you pushed her, so you have to fix this!
“Sabrina’s condition is critical right now. Don’t make me say something harsh!”
Something harsh?
Noelle gave a quiet, humorless laugh. Could any threat from him be worse than what they had already
done to her?
She smoothed her disheveled hair and steadily stared out the window at the passing streets. She replied,” The Ashford family stopped being my concern the moment news of Conner’s death came out. I’m not
cashing in the Spencer family’s goodwill for Sabrina.
“If you claim I pushed her, bring proof. I’m very busy entertaining my guests, so don’t bother me without
evidence. But if you do have evidence, then present it.”
Conner’s heart tightened. “Guests? What guests?”
Noelle’s smile became more pronounced. “Wedding guests, of course.”
Conner’s emotions reached a breaking point. However, as he glanced at the emergency room doors, he still chose to set aside Noelle’s upcoming marriage for now.
After all, the baby in Sabrina’s belly was more important. If the child didn’t make it, they would be back to
square one. He just needed to endure for the next few months, and everything could return to normal.
He hissed, “Aren’t you just marrying that old man for money? How much do you want? As long as the
amount isn’t ridiculous, I’ll pay you! Consider it payment for the Spencer family’s favor!”
Noelle couldn’t help rolling her eyes. Who said the man she was marrying was old?
Sebastian’s face flashed in her mind, and she wondered how he could possibly be considered old.
“Sorry, but this favor is priceless. The Spencer family won’t trade it. It’s as simple as that.”
After saying that, Noelle quickly hung up the phone
The cab driver looked back in concern at the disheveled Noelle. ‘Ma’am, are you alright?”
Noelle looked at herself in her phone screen and realized she looked even more disheveled than she’d imagined. She looked like someone had badly beaten her up.
Even the driver couldn’t help worry. “Do you need me to take you to the police station?”
Noelle waved her hand “Thanks, but it’s okay She wanted nothing more to do with the Ashford family.
Just then, she caught sight of her messy hair in her reflection
Yasmine truly hadn’t held back in the slightest. That kind of strength would be better spent running around
for her precious grandson
In the hospital, Yasmine’s face was pale, her usual haughty composure nowhere to be found. As she
clutched Conner’s hand, she demanded, saying, “Where’s that little bitch, Noelle? She hurt my precious
grandson, and now she’s disappeared?”
Yasmine was finally starting to panic. “If she’s gone, who’s going to find Dr. Brown?”
Conner was also sweating profusely.
The doctors had said that the baby’s condition looked very grim. However, that gynecological expert, Dalton, was someone who didn’t care about money or power–only relationships mattered to him.
Without the right connections, getting him involved would be nearly impossible.
Just then, agonized wails echoed from the operating room.
