Chapter 35
Just as Noelle stepped into the Spencer residence, she sneezed.
Mary rushed up to her, unable to hide her worry. She asked, “Noelle, is everything alright?”
Most of the Spencer family’s guests were still there. Fortunately, under Mary’s hospitality, everyone had mostly forgotten about the earlier commotion.
Noelle smiled as she replied, “I’m fine.”
Mary hesitated, then gently asked, “What about Sabrina?”
At the mention of Sabrina, disgust flashed in Noelle’s eyes. “Mom, as long as I’m okay, that’s all that
matters. Whatever happens to other people isn’t our concern.”
After that, she called for a same–day delivery service to return Sabrina’s gift to the Ashford residence.
After handling everything, Mary then took Noelle around to greet the guests.
Among them were a few familiar elders that Noelle greeted with humility and warmth. However, as she
passed by them, she overheard quiet murmurs about the Ashford family.
“I heard Yasmine went to see Kendra. She actually lowered her head and apologized. It was so satisfying!
I wish someone had recorded it.”
Noelle frowned slightly.
Yasmine had gone to Kendra? She had always believed that someone as proud as Yasmine would never voluntarily seek Kendra out, especially to admit fault and apologize.
It was truly shocking.
Without needing to hear more, Noelle could figure out the reasoning behind Yasmine’s actions–Kendra’s husband was a famous surgeon who definitely had connections with Dalton.
A faint smile played at the corners of Noelle’s mouth.
If Yasmine had shown even the slightest bit of decency at the hospital entrance, Noelle might not have
been so resolute in her decision.
Now, Yasmine was reaping what she’d sown.
Kendra had always been gentle by nature. Even after getting her fiancé stolen and being publicly mocked, she endured the tremendous pain in silence and built a life of her own.
Noelle figured that Kendra would probably agree to help Yasmine, but she wasn’t about to tell Kendra that the Ashford family had brought this on themselves. She had simply decided their problems would never be her concern again.

After Dalton stepped in, Sabrina’s condition stabilized considerably. However, she was required to stay in the hospital for observation and couldn’t leave the monitoring room, or she’d face the consequences
herself.
No matter how much Sabrina wanted to cause trouble, she didn’t dare defy Yasmine.
Outside the monitoring room, Yasmine’s face was dark with rage. She gritted her teeth, knowing she had lost all the dignity she’d once flaunted in Norland’s social circles.
Who knew how long people would mock her for what she’d done?
In her mind, all the blame led back to Noelle. She growled, “You used to say this Noelle was obedient and gentle… I think she’s just a cheap, conniving little tramp. The Ashford family housed her for a few years,
and this is what she does to us!”
However, Conner seemed distracted and hadn’t heard what Yasmine said. He was pondering something
and absent–mindedly asked, “Mom, do you know who Noelle’s marrying?”
Word was that it was some old man with a bit of money, but the Spencers hadn’t leaked any details.
