Sebastian sent the address to Mary’s phone.
Noelle anxiously looked at him. “Is my mom really okay?”
As Sebastian put the phone down, he firmly held Noelle’s shoulders. “If I say she’s fine, she’ll be fine. Do
you trust me?”
Despite the confidence in his eyes, Noelle still felt a knot of worry in her chest. However, she found herself nodding almost instinctively, “Yeah… I trust you”
Sebastian gave her a faint smile. “Good, That’s all I need to hear.”
After saying this, he picked up his phone and briefly instructed his assistant, Aston, to go to the Spencer residence to ensure Mary’s safety. He was almost certain that Conner didn’t have the guts to do anything
and was just a coward who bullied women.
Still, making sure of Mary’s safety would help put Noelle at ease, and for Sebastian, that was reason
enough.
Conner looked at the address on his phone and felt it to be somewhat familiar. However, he couldn’t
remember where he’d seen it before.
The address was clearly in the suburbs. Meanwhile, the Ashford residence was located in Norland’s most prestigious area. Thus, upon seeing this suburban address, Conner couldn’t help but show a smug smile.
Sure enough, after leaving the Ashford family, Noelle couldn’t find anyone with a better standing than
them
In all of Norland, the Ashford family was at the top. Moreover, Conner was young, accomplished, and handsome too. He felt that he was the best husband Noelle could possibly choose.
While driving to the address, he fantasized more than once about how regretful Noelle would look when
she saw him.
He believed that as long as he told her that he was actually Conner, he could ask her to wait for him, and she would definitely break off her engagement.
A strong sense of superiority spread through Conner’s heart, giving him an extra boost of confidence as he drove. He even cheerfully hummed a tune.
As the car drove on in the rain, Conner traveled with high spirits from the Spencer residence to the
suburbs

However, as the urban landscape gradually faded, a hint of contempt and disdain appeared in his eyes.
Only people who couldn’t afford luxury homes downtown would buy big houses in the suburbs and pretend they were villas.
Could Noelle have been fooled by such a countryside villa? Did she really think the guy was wealthy? Could this kind of rural self–built house actually have deceived her?
After leaving the Ashford family, how could she be so easily fooled?
As the car neared its destination, everything became more orderly. Even the roadside trees looked much more refined. It was as if they’d been professionally maintained.
It wasn’t until the car stopped in front of the Cole residence that Conner began to feel something was off. The grand entrance seemed to hint at the level of luxury within the estate.
Conner got out with his umbrella but didn’t see any identifying markers at the gate. So, he figured it had to be a family that wasn’t worth mentioning. Otherwise, why wouldn’t there be any identifying signs visible?
This grand entrance was probably just for show. It was just someone putting on airs beyond their means.
As time passed, the thunderstorm showed no signs of letting up.
Sebastian glanced at the car headlights outside the estate and knew Conner had arrived.
Aston had also sent back word that Mary was perfectly fine and that police had been stationed near the Spencer residence for protection.
After Sebastian relayed this information to Noelle, she finally stopped worrying.
“Mr. Ashford is here. I’ll go meet him,” she said, standing up. After all, Conner had come to see her, and she couldn’t dump everything onto Sebastian.
But before she could fully stand, Sebastian stopped her. He then glanced at the time and asked, “It’s past midnight. Aren’t you tired?”
Noelle froze for a moment, not understanding why he would ask that now. Nonetheless, she honestly
nodded.
Then, it hit her.
Would saying she was tired mean she was dumping everything onto Sebastian?
