The arousal in Sebastian’s eyes turned into fury, and he immediately grabbed Noelle’s waist and pressed his body tightly against hers.
The thunderstorm ended around 2:00 am. Outside the bedroom, wet leaves scattered on the ground
rustled as winds swept by. The rustling of branches and the pitter–patter of raindrops as they dripped
down from the leaves could also be heard.
Lying on the bed, Noelle listened as the noises inside and outside the bedroom came together like an
orchestra. Amid the orchestra was their panting.
In the dark, Noelle shuddered as Sebastian whispered into her ear, “So? What do you think? Can I get it up?
Noelle bit her lip and frowned. Weren’t they in the middle of doing it? Why did he have to bring that up
now?
When Noelle stayed silent, Sebastian frowned and tried to force Noelle to meet his gaze. Noelle bit down
harder and felt the pain spread through her lip.
Sebastian’s gaze turned soft, and he stopped being forceful. Instead, he reached out to softly pry Noelle’s
mouth open. “Stop biting. You’ll hurt yourself. I’ll stop asking, so don’t be nervous.”
Then, he smiled. Noelle was almost the same as she was 20 years ago. Sebastian could still remember
how she had acted the same way at the gathering where she accidentally broke a plate.
He muttered, “Why are you still the same as you were when you were six years old? You still have the habit of biting your lip when you’re nervous.”
Noelle was shocked. Then, the shame of having her bad habit exposed slowly set in. She was almost 26,
yet she still acted like how she did when she was a child.
However, the shame soon gave way to curiosity as she wondered how Sebastian was able to remember her as a child. Almost 20 years had passed since the gathering they both attended as children, so how did he remember that detail so clearly?
“You have a good memory,” Noelle praised him sincerely.
She had heard of Sebastian’s extraordinary accomplishments in his field and the stories that came of them. If he were able to achieve something like that with brick–and–mortar businesses at a decline, his IQ must be through the roof.
Noelle always had the impression that smart people must have extraordinary memory, so Sebastian was clearly one of them.
They were caught in the throes of passion until late into the night. The leaves outside had dried by the
time they finally stopped
Sebastian held Noelle in his arms. Both of their bodies were still entangled, though Noelle was lying on her side and facing the window
Sebastian was still panting slightly when he said. 1 don’t have a good memory”
Exhausted, Noelle had lost all higher brain functions. She responded to Sebastian, “How humble of you.”
She sounded like a weak, starving kitten, but it only served to arouse Sebastian. He frowned as he tried to will his lust away by repeatedly reminding himself that he shouldn’t demand more from the exhausted
Noelle
However, it was hard to do so when Noelle was still in his arms, so he let her go. Tm going to take a bath.”
Noelle also smelled, but she barely had any energy to keep her eyes open. She asked weekly, “Should!
take a bath too?
They were going to sleep in the same bed, after all. So, she should at least give Sebastian some respect
Sebastian, who had already gotten up, paused. “In this house, there isnt anything you should or shouldn’t do. Your wants and needs come first.”
After a long pause, Noelle finally responded with her back facing him, “Okay.”
Slowly, her breathing evened out as she fell asleep
Sebastian stood by the bed. His shadow cast by the light at the head of their bed seemed especially tall
He stayed there watching the small figure on the bed for a long time. Suddenly, his heart was filled with
love
Sebastian’s eyes were filled with mirth. He didn’t even realise that he was smiling when he mumbled, “1 wasn’t being humble”
Sebastian didn’t have a good memory, he couldn’t even remember his schedule that day. Aston had to remind him repeatedly.
But no matter how awful a person’s memory was, they would still remember the things they held dearly. and Noelle was that person for him
Conner returned to the hospital after Sabrina’s relentless calls
Yasmine was waiting for him outside the hospital room. When she spotted him, she scolded, “Dont you know how much Sabrina needs you now? I called Hugo, and he said that you werent at your office. So. where were you? Were you at the bar again?
After she said her piece, she leaned in to sniff Conner’s clothes.
Conner looked at Yasmine helplessly. He was at the end of his wits, so he confessed. “Mom, I can’t stand

living like this anymore. I want to tell Noelle the truth. I want to be with her.
Yasmine’s expression paled. Although she was furious, she still managed to keep her voice down. “What are you saying? Did your brain malfunction after you were drenched in rain?
“What do you mean you want to tell Noelle the truth? Don’t you want an heir? With Sabrina in this condition, she’ll get a miscarriage if you go to Noelle!”
Conner stared at the ceiling blankly. “Noelle’s getting married soon, and she’s going to marry someone else! I was her husband first, so I can’t keep this up anymore, and I don’t want to keep this up anymore! I promise I’ll make Noelle see a doctor. She’ll recover, so she’s young. She can still conceive!”
Yasmine grit her teeth and covered Conner’s mouth. She was scared that Sabrina would hear them from inside her ward.
