Chapter 58
Lydia thought that Noelle was such a shy young lady for addressing Sebastian formally at this stage. She patiently explained, “Mr. Cole said he had a work meeting, something about signing a contract. So, he left.
“He told me to ask you what you want for breakfast when you wake up. He’ll be back soon to send you back to the Spencer residence.”
All Noelle could think of was everything that happened between them last night. She blushed when the memories filled her head.
It was fortunate that Sebastian was absent because of work. She couldn’t imagine how awkward it would
be if he was still around.
She waved her hand dismissively. “There’s no need to prepare breakfast for me. Mr. Cole doesn’t have to come back to send me home either. I’ll head home right now.”
Then, Noelle rushed out of the bedroom.
As she was walking down the stairs, she ran into William and Denise, who were enjoying their morning coffee in the living room. Noelle slowed her pace and greeted them with a smile. “Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Cole. Sorry to bother you last night. I’m heading home now.”
How strange. Why did she feel like a teen who was caught dating by her parents?
Denise stood up and grabbed her when she tried to get away. “Noelle, if not Sebastian, at least let our driver, Lucas, send you home. Otherwise, he’ll throw a tantrum when he gets back.”
“A tantrum?” Noelle was dumbfounded. Why would he throw a tantrum over this?
Denise didn’t bother explaining and led Noelle to their garage.
After Lucas got in the driver’s seat, Denise opened the rear door for Noelle. When she entered the car, Denise smiled at her from the outside. “Your mom must be worried about you after what happened last night. Go home and explain everything to her.”
Noelle nodded politely. “I got it, Mrs. Cole. Goodbye.”
After the car drove away, William, who was drinking coffee in the living room, also walked outside. He looked at the leaves scattered in the car’s wake and sighed. “Why is she still addressing us so formally?”
Denise giggled. “Don’t take it for granted. Lydia just told me that she was still referring to Sebastian as Mr. Cole‘. You’re lucky that she isn’t addressing you as ‘Mr. Cole Senior‘. Just be grateful.”
William shrugged. “Right. We haven’t even given her any wedding gifts, and we’re already hoping she’ll address us like family. We’re being too greedy.”
Denise agreed. “That’s right. Have you prepared them? They must be proportionate to our family status.”
William looked proud of himself. “The necessary preparations were already done long ago. I just asked

our housekeeper, Barret, to withdraw some cash from the bank a few days ago.”
Sebastian’s car pulled in as they spoke. He rolled down the car window. “What wedding gifts are you preparing that require you to withdraw cash from the bank?”
Sebastian got out of the car and shot a glance at the bedroom on the second floor.
“Stop looking. Lucas already drove Noelle home just now,” Denise said.
With a sad look on his face, Sebastian turned back to William, “Dad, how much money did you ask the housekeeper to withdraw from the bank? Don’t go overboard, or you’ll scare Noelle.”
William didn’t know what he did wrong. “Denise told me to make it proportionate to our family’s status.”
Denise was at a loss. “I didn’t ask you to withdraw cash from the bank. Noelle isn’t a materialistic person. Don’t scare her away. If you do, our son’ll go mad!”
William laughed and patted Sebastian’s shoulder. “Then, I’ll just give her a normal amount: Who knows how many more years my hopeless romantic of a son will spend moping around again if we scare her off.”
Sebastian was embarrassed by all the teasing, so he said with mock solemnity, “Dad, don’t say it like that. You’re making it sound like I’m not worth anything.”
Denise chimed in with a laugh, “You are a free good.”
Sebastian gave up fighting and shot back, “Well, you’re the ones who gave birth to this ‘free good“!”
His current behavior was miles away from the cold and decisive mask he donned for work.
