Sebastian wished he could tear that scum apart piece by piece.
The nearest hospital was more than eight miles away. Even if he drove the car to its limit, it would still take nearly half an hour to get there.
“Hang in there, Noelle. Just a little longer. We’ll be there soon,” he said.
Luckily, the suburban roads were in decent condition, and there were only a few cars out at night. The car sped down a deserted avenue surrounded by trees.
She gasped heavily and looked up at Sebastian who was driving. “It’s so hot, Sebastian. I feel like I’m on fire. My chest feels like it’s burning. Am I going to die?”
“Noelle, you’re not going to die. Just hold on. We are on our way to the hospital,” Sebastian tried to
reassure her.
Noelle shut her eyes in pain, shifting restlessly in the passenger seat. Her heavy breathing turned into
faint, uneven murmurs.
Seeing her like this, Sebastian felt as if his heart was being clenched tightly. The ache in his chest was
unbearable.
He glanced at the remaining time on the GPS and made a quick decision in that instant. He took a sharp turn and drove onto a secluded path.
Another sudden brake brought the car to a stop by a narrow river.
The river shimmered under the moonlight.
Before Noelle could even realize what was happening, a soft cry escaped her throat. Her sobs clawed at
Sebastian’s heart.
He parked the car and took her hands in his. “I’ll help you.”
His eyes were filled with determination.
Noelle no longer had the ability to think. The moment she sensed the car stop, she leaned toward
Sebastian and pressed her lips against his.
That kiss set the entire night ablaze. Everything came on fast and intensely.
Unlike that night at the Cole residence, Noelle was wild beyond measure tonight. Her wildness reached such a peak that it ignited an overwhelming desire in Sebastian. He too was lost in the night, unable to pull himself away.
The drifting clouds quietly veiled the moonlight, and the first half of the night had slipped into the second.
The night breeze rustled through the leaves, blending with the faint chirr of insects and the heavy

breathing inside the car, forming the most intimate symphony of the night.
Noelle was completely exhausted. She slumped back against the seat and fell into a deep sleep.
On the other hand, Sebastian was thoroughly satisfied and was brimming with energy, so he drove straight back to the Cole residence.
After parking the car securely in the garage beside the main building, he carefully carried Noelle out of the car as if she might shatter at the slightest touch.
There was a softness in his eyes, a mix of affection and concern.
The marks on her body were impossible to look away from, yet he kept reminding himself she was exhausted and that he couldn’t go any further. He lifted his gaze and forced himself not to look down at
her again.
To Sebastian, she was the most irresistible temptation in the world.
Although Sebastian had slowed his pace considerably, the swaying from the hall to the spiral staircase and up to the second floor had roused Noelle quite a bit.
She lifted her weary eyes to Sebastian and asked, “Are we home?”
Sebastian replied in a low voice, “Yes, we’re home.”
This was the Cole residence, and one day it would be Noelle’s home as well. When the thought crossed his mind, a faint curve tugged at his lips.
Noelle’s voice carried a trace of languor that lingered after pleasure. “Have I slept for long?”
He nudged the bedroom door open with his foot. “Not for long. Do you want to take a shower before going back to sleep, or just rest for now?”
