Conner soon received a written notice from the Cole Group that they had terminated their partnership with the Novara Corporation.
He couldn’t accept that such a drastic change had happened in just one night.
Inside the Novara Corporation building, Conner’s expression was a mix of anxiety and fury. He called Hugo and prepared to head straight to the Cole Group.
Hugo knew how important this deal was for Novara, but he still felt the need to remind Conner not to waste his time. “Mr. Cole will not meet with us.”
Even companies several tiers above them might not get the chance to meet Sebastian, let alone those at their level.
Conner practically dragged Hugo into the car. “I am still going to demand an explanation from the Cole Group. Do they think they can toy with me? What gives them the right to casually change the deal like this?”
The car sped through the city and pulled into the most valuable district in Norland, where Cole Group’s headquarters was located.
The building stood directly across from Norland’s most iconic landmark, the Crown of Norland. It was also the tallest building in the city.
The land for the headquarters alone was worth a staggering amount. That location was the center point from which the entire bustling heart of Norland could be mapped.
Conner’s car was stopped before it could even enter the Cole Group building, and the security guards carried out their routine check.
Even after Conner had identified himself, they still politely said, “Sorry, without an invitation or appointment, we can’t let you in.”
Conner was frustrated, and he had no choice but to call Aston. “If you cannot give me a proper explanation about the project, I am not leaving.”
He got out of the car after finished speaking, strode to the front of the building, and stared up at the highest floor. “I will wait right here in front of the Cole Group. At the very least, give me an answer!”
Aston felt a bit torn. Normally, having security escort them away would have been the most appropriate and standard procedure. However, since it was the Cole Group who had backed out on Novara, his conscience nagged at him. In the end, he told security to let Conner in.
Inside the reception room, Aston had a cup of coffee brought to Conner, a gesture that Connor completely misunderstood. He took the courtesy as a sign that they felt guilty for changing business partners so casually.

Conner leaned back in his chair and pushed the coffee aside. “I am not here for a drink. I am
here to see Mr. Cole.”
Having worked with Sebastian for years, Aston knew his boss was a gentleman. Over time, he had adopted the same courteous manner himself. Because of that, he didn’t take Conner’s attitude personally. A little temper was only natural in a situation like this.
With a polite smile, he explained, “Mr. Ashford, Mr. Cole has been busy preparing for his wedding and will not be in the office for the time being. If you’ve come to see him, I’m afraid that won’t be possible.”
Conner was taken aback. “Mr. Cole is getting married? How has something this big not made the rounds? Who is the bride? Is it the Sanchez family’s daughter?”
He had long known of Yvette’s interest in Sebastian, but he never imagined their relationship would progress so quickly.
Sebastian had always been a man of mystery, and most of what Conner knew about him came
from rumors.
It seemed that Sebastian had only returned to the country a few years ago, yet now he was already set to marry Yvette. That ambition couldn’t be more obvious.
An alliance with the Sanchez family, who had dominated Norland for decades, was easily the most advantageous choice for the Coles.
