Chapter 94

Conner had no choice but to walk out of the reception room in defeat. With the security team close behind, he quietly left the Cole Group building.
He then returned to the Ashford residence.
The Ashford family’s dinner tonight was especially lavish, even featuring champagne.
Yasmine was busy instructing the housekeepers. “Put this pot of orchids by the entrance. It will bring in fortune. And these dishes taste completely wrong. Take them away and have
them redone!”
Conner walked into the living room with his head down. Yasmine, having no idea what had happened, pulled him over to admire the expensive orchids she had just bought.
“The orchids bring the best luck. The rare variety I ordered took several days to arrive. And would you believe it, the day I placed the order was the same day you secured the project with the Cole Group. If we take good care of them, we might end up making even more money in
the future.”
Conner glanced irritably at the orchids by the door and said in a drained voice, “Mom, the Cole Group project is canceled.”
Yasmine was just about to tell the housekeeper to prepare some of Sabrina’s favorite dishes
when Conner said that.
Last night, Noelle had stirred up trouble again, upsetting Sabrina so badly that she had pregnancy complications and now had to stay in the hospital.
At first, she didn’t even realize Conner was saying the project had been canceled. She was still making plans in her head. “Once this project is done, everything with Novara Corporation will be handed over to you. I can focus completely on taking care of Sabrina.”
Yasmine was already picturing a peaceful retired life surrounded by family. It took her a long moment before she finally processed what Conner had said.
The project was gone.
Yasmine’s expression shifted instantly. “How is that possible? They just agreed to sign the contract. How could it suddenly fall through?”
The housekeepers didn’t dare say a word, and they moved with extreme caution. Everyone was well aware of Yasmine’s temper and knew just how awful it could get.
Conner slumped onto the couch, running his fingers through his already messy hair. The sight of the champagne on the table only annoyed him more. “Who put that there? Take it away

now!”
The housekeepers quickly cleared the champagne away.
Yasmine hurried over to him. “What exactly happened?”
Conner couldn’t make sense of it either. “Something’s wrong, really wrong. Doesn’t the Spencer family have some connections with the Coles?
“I had Noelle put in a word for us with them. How is it that just one night after she did, the Coles suddenly changed their mind?”
Yasmine narrowed her eyes, her hatred for Noelle now deeply rooted in her heart.
She said, “It has to be her. She never had good intentions. She must have spoken badly about us to the Coles, and that’s why they changed their mind.
“When she lived under our roof, I gave her the best of everything. Now that she’s about to remarry, she shows no gratitude and even wants to make our lives miserable.”
Conner gripped his hair, unable to believe it. “Was this really Noelle’s doing?”
He had missed her too much last night, which was why he acted that way. He hadn’t done any real harm to Noelle, and that meddler had shown up in time to stop him anyway.
Conner clenched his teeth, a mix of frustration and anger washing over him. “Noelle, if you knew I was Conner, you’d definitely regret what you did!”
Feeling restless, Conner dismissed all the housekeepers before turning to Yasmine. “Mom, when will I get my identity as Conner back? Only by reclaiming my name can I make Noelle listen to me again, and she won’t dare to harm the Ashford family anymore.”
Yasmine’s eyes narrowed. “Wait until Sabrina gives birth, then reveal your true identity to that bitch and make her regret it deeply.
“But you have to promise me one thing–no matter what, you can’t take her back right away. You need to punish her first. That way, you’ll not only help the Ashford family get some revenge but also satisfy me.”
The thought of Noelle crying and begging to come back to him brought a smug smile to Conner’s face. “Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll make sure to get revenge for you.”
