Chapter 547
Chapter 547
The trending photos splashed all over the internet were candid shots-Niamh being hoisted into a car by Jonathan, the two of them dining together at the Coralis Nimbus Summit, Jonathan lighting fireworks for her, and even a drone display spelling out “Forgive Me.”
It didn’t take much for Niamh to realize they’d been secretly photographed the night before.
She shut off the trending feed, rolling her eyes at how bored people must be to obsess so much over her marriage and love life. Did they think it would earn them a bonus at work? What a waste of time and data.
Niamh went to the office as usual. Lately, all her energy had gone into becoming the largest shareholder of The Thomas Group, leaving little room to pay attention to her jewelry studio.
“Our boss is such a wicked woman!” Rae was gossiping with Amy in the
women’s restroom.
“Did you see the trending news this morning? Turns out our boss and Mr. Thomas never divorced!”
“And Mr. Thomas was all over the tabloids with that Marina just a while ago. Serves him right-now he’s begging for forgiveness and it’s not working.”
“Exactly! I never figured Mr. Thomas for the type who can’t keep his eyes on his own plate. If it were me, I’d pick Dr. White any day…” Rae trailed off, her tone turning playful. “But, honestly, I wouldn’t say no to a night with Mr. Thomas.”
“You just have a thing for his looks.”
“Can you blame me? It’s Jonathan Thomas! He’s got money, looks, charm-you can’t tell me you don’t find him tempting.”
“I’m the boss’s assistant. I’m loyal to her, no matter how handsome Mr. Thomas is. He doesn’t deserve her.”

“But the boss has Dr. White, too! He’s already gone public as her boyfriend, and now it turns out she and Mr. Thomas never divorced? Poor Dr. White-caught in the crossfire. Is he really the other man?”
As Rae gossiped, washing her hands, Amy’s imagination was already running wild, playing out the drama in her mind.
“To be the third wheel for love-Dr. White’s really made a sacrifice.”
“Hey, who do you think she’ll choose in the end?”
“Whoever she picks, it’s not like either of us is getting a raise. If you’ve got time to gossip, you’ve got time to finish your work. Don’t you want your performance bonus?”
The stall door squeaked open. Niamh stepped out.
Amy and Rae let out a startled yelp, looking as if they’d seen a ghost.
They never imagined their boss would be in the restroom, overhearing their entire conversation about her love life.
“Sorry, boss! We’ll get back to work right away!” Amy grabbed Rae and made a hasty escape.
Niamh sighed. She doubted Amy and Rae were the only ones talking behind her back. She couldn’t understand how her life had suddenly become public property, dissected like she was some kind of celebrity.
This time, the trending news about her and Jonathan had spread naturally. But it didn’t last long-by that afternoon, the topic vanished from the trending list.
Niamh figured Sprague was behind it. No one wanted news of her not being divorced from Jonathan to reach the entire internet more than Sprague.
But even with the trending topic removed quickly, it was no match for how fast things spread online. The Thomas Group’s stock price kept swinging wildly, refusing to stabilize.
Just before the end of the workday, a package arrived for Niamh.

She hadn’t ordered anything recently, and the delivery was marked for local courier service.
Thinking little of it, Niamh told Amy to open it for her.
“Boss!” Amy’s voice rang with unmistakable excitement. Niamh, hunched over her sketches, looked up to see Amy lifting something out of the box, holding it up with both hands for her to see,
Niamh blinked, her face unreadable,
