Chapter 10
Her words sent a jolt through me, but I quickly regained my composure.
“Randell, I’ve already died once. Just pretend that I really did die, and let’s let each other go,” I said coldly.
“No!” he said, his head snapping up.
“I can’t, Jules. Even if you hate me or resent me-you can even hit me or yell at me-please don’t tell me you’re really gone. I’m begging you, please come back to me,” he said, his voice laced with desperation.
My chest tightened in pain, but I only answered him calmly, “Randell, the person you wanted was never me. We never should’ve been together.”
He shook his head, his voice filled with conviction. “That’s not true. I made mistakes then. I was too
stupid. It was only until you left that I realized how important you were to me.”
When May saw that Randell was completely ignoring her, she suddenly grabbed a chair before lunging at
“Just die, Julia!”
It happened all too quickly. Before I could even react, Randell was suddenly standing in front of me and
taking the brunt of the blow for me.
He let out a heavy groan before falling onto the floor.
“Stop!” Damon yelled as he rushed over and planted himself in front of me.
Randell’s assistant and bodyguards swiftly subdued May, but she continued to struggle and yell like a
lunatic.
“Randy, you’re still protecting her? Aren’t you worried that she and that guy have already-”
As Randell got up from the floor, his cold gaze swept over her. He interrupted her before she could finish,”
May, from this moment on, I don’t want to hear another word from you.”
His words were filled with such a chill that May momentarily froze before she started thrashing around
again.
The assistant and bodyguards hurriedly dragged her out, and peace finally returned to the studio.
Randell turned around, his gaze falling on Damon who was still standing protectively in front of me.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but I spoke first.
“May was right. I don’t need you anymore. Please stay out of my life.”
Randell stiffened, but his voice was resolute. “It’s okay. I know I’ve made mistakes before. So even… even if you’re together with him, I don’t mind either. As long as you’re willing, then I can accept it.”
His eyes were filled with pleading, as if he were willing to compromise on anything as long as he could stay by my side.
At that moment, Damon finally spoke up. His voice was calm, but there was an edge to it. “Mr. Gunther, I don’t know what happened between the two of you, but I think that it should be Julia’s decision whether she wants to be with you or not.
“You keep talking about your feelings, but have you ever considered what she truly wants?”
Randell was stunned. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
