Sophia followed Jason into his study, her voice still tearful. “Jason, if Victoria really hates me this much, I should never have come back.” Jason rubbed his temples, his tone relatively gentle. “Don’t overthink it. She’s probably just in a bad mood.”

“Don’t you love me anymore? No one in this world has ever truly loved me. If even you abandon me, what’s the point of living?”
As soon as she finished speaking, she suddenly jumped up and rushed toward the floor–to–ceiling window.
Jason moved quickly. He grabbed her wrist, spilling the expensive whiskey across the floor.
“Stop it!” His voice carried suppressed anger.
Sophia collapsed into his arms, sobbing. “Then could you please… Just like before…”

. “At least punish her a little? The way she treated me today really hurt.” Jason was silent for a moment, then finally nodded. Just as they reached Victoria’s bedroom door, the The butler rushed over with a pale face. “Mr. Reid, there are police officers outside.

Before he could finish, three uniformed officers had already entered.
Victoria was somehow already standing in the hallway. She wore a silk robe, her long hair cascading loosely over her shoulders, gleaming softly under the lights.
“I called them,” she said, her voice terrifyingly

Jason’s face went ashen. “Victoria!”
Victoria calmly rolled up her sleeves, revealing shocking bruises on her arms. “I’m pressing assault charges against Sophia She looked at the officers. “The evidence is right here.”
“Are you insane?” Jason grabbed her wrist. “She was just joking with you!”
“Joking?” Victoria sneered and yanked her hand back. “Mr. Reid, you have a very unique definition of jokes.
Sophia went pale, quickly defending herself. “I didn’t mean to… I was just-
“Then apologize.” Victoria cut her off. “Otherwise, we’ll let the courts handle this.”
Under the officers‘ watchful eyes, Sophia could only bite her lip and bow her head in humiliation. “I… I’m sorry.
After the police left, Victoria shut her door without looking back.
Jason stood there, his brow furrowed. Had Victoria really changed this much, or was it his imagination?

Later that night, Jason knocked on Victoria’s door. She leaned against the doorframe, her robe slightly open at the collar, revealing her delicate collarbone.
She held a glass of red wine, asking lazily, “What do you want?”
Jason’s gaze lingered on her for a moment. “What’s gotten into you lately?”
He softened his tone. “Sophia’s just staying temporarily. You’re already Mrs. Reid. What more could you want?”
“Jason.” Victoria interrupted before he could say more, her red lips curving into a mocking smile,
She took a slow sip of wine. “Playing house with me while letting her move in. Is messing with me entertaining for you?”
“That’s not what I meant.” Jason frowned, but the door slammed shut in his face.
He stood outside her door, his expression stormy. The Victoria before him was nothing like before. When did the woman who used to obey his every word become so impossible to control?
On the other side of the mansion, a priceless vase crashed to the floor, shards scattering everywhere. Sophia trembled with rage, sweeping everything from her vanity.
“Victoria Coleman!” she hissed, gritting her teeth. “You’ll pay for this!”
