Sky Pastures Ranch. Obstacle Course, Level One: Defend the Veggies.
Each family–one adult and two kids–will ride a triple–seated bicycle to the camp, three miles away.
On the route, beware the wild Alpaca Squad! Parents and kids must carry a bucket filled with carrots and lettuce. While cycling, they’ll have to protect their precious veggies from being snatched by hungry alpacas.
At the finish line, every carrot left adds three points; each remaining lettuce leaf is worth one. The total score will be used to exchange for ingredients for the lunchtime cooking session.
Daph recognized most of the words on the task card. She read it aloud, then turned to ask, “Uncle, did you get that? If you didn’t, I can explain it again.”
Did Daph think he was slow or something?
Luke Holloway nodded, his voice muffled. “I got it.”
The teacher watched the three of them standing together and couldn’t help but think how lovely they looked.
“If he wasn’t her mom’s brother, I’d be shipping these two so hard! Gorgeous pair–a handsome man and a beautiful woman. He could pick Daph up with one arm! Wow, they’d be perfect together!”
Daph’s homeroom teacher covered her face with the task card, whispering to her colleague, “That guy doesn’t have the same last name as Daph’s mom. Maybe he’s just her stepbrother?”
Her colleague’s eyes instantly lit up. “You mean, like, forbidden romance? I’m in!”
The homeroom teacher glanced back at Selene and Luke Holloway, whispering with genuine admiration, “They’re definitely winning the ‘Most Beautiful Family‘ award today!”
While the teachers gossiped quietly, the ranch staff noticed a sleek black Maybach pulling up.
The car door opened, and the man who stepped out looked like someone straight out of a magazine.
Just as the staff were still swooning over Luke Holloway’s striking good looks and powerful build, another style of handsome man had stolen their attention.

“Is that Mr. Vaughn? Our Mr. Vaughn from the company?”
Sky Pastures Ranch was developed by Vaughn Enterprises; the nearby residential complex was their investment too.
“It really is Mr. Vaughn!”
“He’s even more attractive than the rumors said!”
Selene and Daph could hear the commotion in the distance, but the moment they caught the name “Mr. Vaughn,” they both lost all interest in turning around.
Harrison? Seriously, what’s to see?
At the front of the group, Dames–baseball cap perched on his head–strode confidently ahead, clearly in a great mood.
Felicity and Harrison walked side by side, both wearing matching outdoor jackets. Felicity sported the same cap as Dames.
When Felicity hopped out of the car, she was chewing bubblegum, occasionally blowing bright pink bubbles.
She cast a sharp glance over the female staff and teachers nearby.
They all seemed overly excited at the sight of Harrison, cheeks flushed with anticipation.
Felicity gave a cold little smirk. These women were acting like sows in heat.
As if to stake her claim, Felicity draped her arm casually over Harrison’s shoulder, adopting the air of a spoiled rich kid.
Harrison promptly removed her arm from his shoulder.
He reminded her, “Try walking like a normal person.”
Felicity’s bubble popped. She clicked her tongue and grinned. Harrison was definitely just embarrassed.
