Chapter 188
Chapter 188
Harrison watched as Luke Holloway gripped the edge of the sack, practically lifting both Daph and Selene off the ground at once.
Selene held Daph tightly, trying to keep them both steady so they wouldn’t jostle around and throw Luke off balance as he bounded forward.
Before long, their family had surged way ahead of everyone else.
They were the only family on the field who hadn’t taken a tumble.
“Harrison! What on earth are you doing? The race already started!!”
Felicity strode over with Dames in tow.
Even the veins on Harrison’s arms stood out with tension.
In years past, he’d always been the one doing the sack race with Selene during these family days.
If looks could kill, Luke Holloway would have had holes in his back by
now.
How could he not realize that Luke’s feelings for Selene had long since gone beyond simple brotherly affection? But because Selene only saw him as a big brother, Luke hid his true feelings, terrified that if she ever found out, he’d lose the wholehearted trust she gave him.
“Harrison? Are you even listening to me?”
Felicity raised her voice sharply.
Harrison finally answered, cold as ever. “I’m out. I’m not playing this game.”
“What? Why?!”
Felicity and Dames shouted in unison.
He kept his face stony, his tone as domineering as always. “It’s pointless.”

Dames looked ready to burst into tears. “But if we don’t play, we’re gonna end up with nothing to eat!”
Harrison replied, “There’s another game after this one.”
If they placed first in the third game, they’d get seven points-no way was he going to let his son go hungry.
Felicity glanced over just in time to see Quentin collapse onto Clarissa, who let out a theatrical squeal, half annoyed and half delighted.
Felicity bit her lip hard.
If only she and Harrison could do the sack race together-maybe if she fell, he’d land right on top of her.
Just thinking about it made her want to curse under her breath.
She guessed Harrison refused to play because he hated the idea of Falling and ruining his image.
As expected, Selene’s team placed first without a hitch.
Daph grabbed the number 10 card and stuck it proudly next to their
name.
The third game was the family push-up challenge.
In this one, the mom would hold the child and sit on the dad’s back while the dad did push-ups with both of them as extra weight.
When Dames heard the rules, he was thrilled. “Daddy, are you gonna do push-ups with me on your back this time? Mommy never wins at this game.”
He always thought Selene was a bit too weak-other parents could manage push-ups with both an adult and a kid on their back.
In the past, seeing Selene there alone with two kids, the teachers would

go easy on her, only making her carry one child. But even then, she never managed more than three push-ups.
Dames hated that she always finished last in this game.
Felicity, bubbling with excitement, rolled out a yoga mat for Harrison on the floor.
‘Harrison, hurry up and get down!”
She scooped Dames into her arms, picturing herself sitting on Harrison’s back-just the thought sent a shiver of anticipation through her.
Harrison got down on all fours, hands braced on the mat. He glanced sideways and saw Luke Holloway setting up right next to him.
Felicity could hardly contain herself and was just about to plop down on Harrison’s waist when, all of a sudden, he sprang to his feet.
She went flying, completely losing her balance and toppling forward.
She landed smack on Quentin, startling him so badly he yelped.
Felicity! What the hell are you doing?!”
Clarissa shrieked, her voice echoing across the gym.
No wonder-Felicity had managed to fall in the most awkward position maginable, right onto Quentin’s lap.
Quentin, sitting on the mat, was left scrambling and shouting in protest. Realizing where she’d landed, Felicity’s face flushed a deep shade of red. “Harrison! Why did you get up all of a sudden? That was dangerous!”
Harrison stood on the mat, arms crossed, scanning the area.
“This game needs a seat cushion,” he announced.
