Chapter 190

Chapter 190

He would never lose to Luke Holloway!

“I’m gonna be sick!!”

Dames was squirming in Felicity’s lap, but Felicity’s hold on him was nowhere near as steady as Selene’s was with Daph.

The constant bouncing up and down made Dames dizzy and queasy.

He sat there, his head lolling with each jolt, and before anyone could stop him, Dames let out a strangled retch and threw up.

“Aah!”

He pitched forward, emptying the contents of his stomach right onto Felicity’s jeans.

Felicity shrieked and leapt off Harrison’s back as if she’d been electrocuted.

She hurried to set Dames down, staring in horror at the mess on her

pants.

She shouted, furious, “Why did you have to throw up on me?!”

Harrison, still supporting himself on the yoga mat, froze. His face darkened, lips pressed into a tight, pale line.

He wanted to yell at Felicity: What on earth are you doing?!

The referee raised her hand and announced, “First place goes to the Dafina family!”

Harrison stayed seated, trying to steady his breath, but his chest still heaved with frustration.

Meanwhile, Luke Holloway came to a smooth stop. Selene climbed down from his back, still cradling Daph in her arms.

“Uncle Luke! You’re amazing!” Daph cheered.

Luke Holloway stood up, dusted off his hands, and shot them a modest

smile.

Selene asked, “Aren’t you tired?”

He shook his head. “Not at all.”

Leaning closer, he whispered to Selene, “I could’ve done it one-handed, even with you and Daph on my back.”

He just thought doing push-ups one-handed in front of all these people would look a bit too showy. Luke Holloway always preferred to stay

under the radar.

The teacher handed Dames and Daph their scorecards-Daph scored thirteen points.

Harrison had come in second in the push-up contest, earning five points, but because Dames had lost the bucket during the first challenge, they’d had three points deducted. Even after adding a point for the mat, their final score was just three.

When Dames saw he was still dead last, his face fell.

He waved his little fists in frustration. “When Mom used to bring Daph and me to these family contests, we always won first place! Dad, Flick! How can you be even worse than that fussy, dramatic mom of mine?!”

Dames was indignant-he’d never been this disappointed in his life.

For the first time, he started to doubt Harrison and Felicity’s abilities.

Harrison’s face was icy as he said, “We lost the vegetable bucket in the first round because of you!”

Dames pouted, his eyebrows slanting downward in a deep frown.

“You didn’t even join the sack race! That’s why we got zero!” The bickering escalated between father and son.

Harrison gave a cold laugh. “At least I scored in the push-ups. If you hadn’t thrown up…”

Dames felt like the unluckiest kid in the world. His eyes reddened as he mumbled, “I’m never doing family games with you two again!”

Felicity glanced at Harrison, whose dark expression promised a coming

storm.

Quickly, she changed the subject. “Let’s go trade in our points for lunch.”

When the three of them got to the prize booth, they found out the school only provided raw ingredients. They picked out rice and some vegetables but they’d have to cook everything themselves.

“Seriously? We have to make our own food? That’s so unfair!” Felicity complained.

The teacher tried to reassure them. “We want the kids to experience outdoor cooking with their families. It’ll taste even better when you make it together.”

“Harrison, can you cook?” Felicity asked.

Harrison could manage some basic Western dishes, but with just three points, they couldn’t afford the ingredients for anything fancy.

He simply replied, “Nope.”
