Chapter 230

Chapter 230

Selene pressed the stopwatch on her phone and flashed the screen at

Harrison.

The ticking numbers on the timer felt like bullets, each one punching holes right through Harrison’s chest.

Once upon a time, he’d treated Selene exactly like this.

Now, the once-unshakable CEO of Vaughn Enterprises found himself strapped to a ticking time bomb.

The officer nodded and said, “Miss Thompson has made a very good suggestion, Mr. Vaughn. Please convince Felicity to record an apology video. If she actually manages to get 999 likes on her social feed, we can use her post as part of our report.”

For the first time in his life, Harrison felt as if he was roasting over an open fire.

He hated every second of it.

Scowling, Harrison reluctantly pulled out his phone. The relentless countdown on Selene’s screen forced his hand as he dialed.

He never would have imagined he’d one day be cornered and coerced by Selene.

Yet, under her thumb, he felt his heart pounding in his chest-louder and wilder than ever.

Felicity was currently in a holding cell, nowhere near her phone.

But Harrison had already arranged for a lawyer to be by her side.

When the lawyer answered, he followed Harrison’s instructions, putting the call on speaker so Felicity-hands cuffed to a metal chair-could hear Harrison’s voice.

“Felicity, just follow the officer’s directions. Record an apology video now, and post it to your feed. Tell everyone you need 999 likes.”

Chapter 230

Felicity was stunned.

“Harrison! Why should I do something so humiliating?”

This was like being forced to parade around naked-just pure, public embarrassment.

“Get 999 likes, and you’ll be released!”

Felicity was on the verge of tears. “No way! This is mortifying!”

Selene’s manicured nails tapped the phone screen, drumming out the

seconds.

She yawned, her voice languid. “If you don’t finish the video in three minutes, I won’t be signing the statement of forgiveness.”

The moment Felicity heard Selene’s voice, she exploded like a firecracker. “Selene! This has to be your rotten idea, hasn’t it?!”

Her chest heaved with anger as she struggled, making the metal chair clatter noisily.

Selene’s tone was as calm as ever. “Two minutes left.”

Harrison turned to the lawyer by Felicity’s side. “Write out her apology for her. Make her read it word for word.”

Felicity’s voice broke, thick with tears. “Harrison! I can’t believe you’re siding with her!”

He shot back, “Don’t you still want to compete in the showcase event?”

Felicity muttered, “Forget it. I’ll just drop out.”

Harrison cursed silently. Typical Felicity-so quick to give up.

“You told me you wanted to fulfill Natalie’s dream. Have you forgotten? You’re racing for Natalie!”

Harrison’s voice thundered, his anger spilling over, his chest tight with

emotion.

Chapter 230

“I want you to wear the suit custom-made for Natalie! I want you to race with her name emblazoned on your helmet in that showcase event!”

He remembered-this was exactly how Felicity had once spoken to him.

She’d wanted to do all the things Natalie Vaughn never got the chance to.

“…I went through all this trouble to bring in the Luna Racing Club team-the team that once worked with Luna herself-to train you. I got you on the roster for the showcase event. And for what, Felicity?

How can you just throw away Natalie’s dream so easily?”

Even through the phone, Felicity felt the full force of Harrison’s fury, her whole body trembling under the weight of it.
